Introduction

In order to show our support for the Compaq Alpha community we've ported many of our most popular utilities to the Alpha NT platform. You can access these versions on the individual utility pages, but this page serves as a complete catalog of them.

Update: Because Microsoft has dropped support for the Alpha as of NT 4.0 SP6, unless there is significant demand we will no longer update this page or the Alpha ports of our tools.

Contig
Wish you could quickly defragment your frequently used files? Use Contig to optimize individual files, or to create new files that are contiguous.

DebugView/EE
Capture Win32 and kernel-mode debug output to a GUI without a debugger!

ERD Commander
Boot-floppy capability has finally been brought to Windows NT! ERD Commander lets you boot off of a set of standard NT setup disks into a command interpreter that's almost identical to Command-Prompt. From there you can access drives on the system and perform standard file-related commands. The essential NT recovery tool.

Filemon
Monitor all file system activity in real-time. Version 4.0 has numerous enhancements.

HandleEx
Find out what files, registry keys and other objects processes have open, or which DLLs they have loaded. A flexible GUI will even show you who owns each process.

ListDlls
ListDLLs is command line utility that will show what DLLS process have loaded and version information for those DLLs.

NewSID
Avoid the duplicate SID problem when cloning, and move BDCs between domains.

PageDefrag
Defragment your paging and Registry files.

Portmon
Monitor serial and parallel port activity in real-time.

Regmon
Monitor all Registry activity in real-time. Version 4.0 has numerous enhancements.

Sync
Force NT to flush all modified file system data to disk, insuring that it will be safe in the face of a crash.

TCPView
See all open TCP and UDP endpoints. Full source to the command-line version of this tool, netstatp, is included.

WinObj
The ultimate Object Manager namespace viewer is here. Version 2.0 has significant UI enhancements, knows about more object types, and is integrated with NT's native security editors.
